MedStride Ltd is committed to achieving Net Zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050 at the latest.
MedStride is a UK-based specialist advisory consultancy providing regulatory, clinical evidence, quality, governance, risk management and healthcare technology advisory services. MedStride recognises the importance of reducing environmental impact and will apply proportionate carbon reduction measures in the delivery of its services, including work performed under the NHS SBS Healthcare AI Solutions Framework.
New supplier status
MedStride Ltd commenced trading in October 2025 and, at the date of publication of this Carbon Reduction Plan, has been trading for less than 12 months. MedStride has therefore not yet completed a full 12-month emissions reporting period.
In line with the Carbon Reduction Plan guidance for suppliers trading for less than 12 months, MedStride is publishing this Carbon Reduction Plan to confirm its commitment to achieving Net Zero by 2050, director-level approval, and public availability of the plan.
MedStride will complete and publish its first full emissions baseline and reporting year assessment once sufficient trading data is available. The first full emissions review will cover MedStride’s relevant Scope 1, Scope 2 and required Scope 3 emissions categories and will be published within six months of the relevant reporting year end.
Baseline emissions footprint
Baseline emissions are the reference point against which future emissions reductions will be measured.

Explanation: MedStride has not previously assessed or reported organisational greenhouse gas emissions because the business is newly trading. MedStride will use its first completed reporting period as its baseline year once sufficient data is available.

The Scope 3 categories to be considered in MedStride’s first full emissions assessment will include:
- upstream transportation and distribution
- waste generated in operations
- business travel
- employee commuting
- downstream transportation and distribution

MedStride will publish its first full emissions reporting assessment once a complete reporting period is available. Future reporting will include relevant Scope 1, Scope 2 and required Scope 3 categories, measured in tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent, tCO2e.
Emissions reduction targets
MedStride is committed to reducing emissions over time to achieve Net Zero by 2050 at the latest.
As MedStride has not yet completed its first 12-month reporting period, quantified emissions reduction targets will be established after the first baseline emissions assessment has been completed. MedStride will review emissions annually and will update this Carbon Reduction Plan to include measurable reduction targets once baseline emissions have been calculated.
MedStride’s initial target is to maintain a low-emissions operating model as the business grows by prioritising remote-first delivery, minimising unnecessary travel, using digital collaboration tools, reducing waste, and selecting lower-carbon options where practical.
Carbon reduction projects and environmental management measures
MedStride’s current and planned environmental management measures are proportionate to its size, operating model and role as a specialist advisory consultancy.
Measures already in effect
MedStride has implemented the following measures:
- remote-first delivery where appropriate to reduce unnecessary business travel
- use of video meetings and secure digital collaboration tools
- electronic documentation and paperless working practices wherever possible
- digital document sharing and review instead of printed packs
- use of existing office and home-working infrastructure rather than maintaining a high-consumption dedicated delivery estate
- low-waste professional services operating model
- consideration of lower-carbon travel options where business travel is required
These measures will be in effect when performing contracts under the NHS SBS Healthcare AI Solutions Framework.
Future carbon reduction initiatives
MedStride intends to implement further measures as the business grows, including:
- completing a first full greenhouse gas emissions baseline assessment
- reviewing business travel and adopting a travel hierarchy that prioritises remote delivery where suitable
- selecting rail or lower-carbon travel options over air or high-emission alternatives where practical
- reviewing suppliers and service providers with consideration of environmental performance
- maintaining paperless project delivery and digital-first documentation practices
- reviewing waste, purchased services and digital operations as part of annual emissions reporting
- developing a proportionate environmental management process suitable for a small professional services business
- reviewing the Carbon Reduction Plan annually and publishing updates on the company website
Application to contract delivery
In performing services under the NHS SBS Healthcare AI Solutions Framework, MedStride will apply environmental management measures that are proportionate to the scope of each call-off contract.
This may include:
- using remote or hybrid delivery where appropriate
- avoiding unnecessary travel
- coordinating stakeholder engagement efficiently
- using secure digital document exchange and collaboration tools
- reducing paper-based outputs
- considering lower-carbon travel where on-site delivery is required
- integrating environmental considerations into project planning where relevant
Declaration and sign-off
This Carbon Reduction Plan has been prepared having regard to PPN 06/21 and associated guidance for Carbon Reduction Plans, taking account of MedStride’s status as a new supplier trading for less than 12 months at the date of publication.
MedStride confirms its commitment to achieving Net Zero emissions by 2050 at the latest.
MedStride will complete and publish its first full emissions baseline and reporting year assessment once sufficient trading data is available and will review and update this Carbon Reduction Plan at least annually.
This Carbon Reduction Plan has been reviewed and approved by the company director.
